We have been busy planting primroses and pansies in the garden. We have been weeding and digging up the ground in the vegetable patches to get ready for our peas, tomatoes and carrots which we planted in pots inside. When the seeds begin to grow we will plant them outside.
A lot of work has taken place in our garden and it has been a great success. The children made a bug hotel, signs and scarecrows to brighten up the garden. They also painted tyres and crates to plant flowers in. We were even lucky enough to have a minion painted for us by a parent!
The children planted, grew and harvested a large crop of vegetables including broad beans, lettuce, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, garlic and strawberries which each child in the school got to taste.
As a result, the garden was entered in the Creative Schools Award and we were successful in winning an award for our school!
A huge thank you to all the children, staff and many parents who helped out throughout the year with painting, watering, donating bulbs and more. We are extremely grateful and appreciate all the help! Looking forward to growing many new crops in the next year!
