We were happy to return to the routine of school after all the excitement of Christmas! January has been a long, busy month. Ms. Gaskin’s class is learning hurling with Dotsy O’Callaghan and we were all delighted to start another set of dance classes with Olwyn. We participated in a wonderful drumming workshop and got to try out lots of different types of drums! Second classes did a St. Brigid’s play for us which we enjoyed very much. Thanks to Ms. Gaskin for organising it!
In English, we continued to learn ‘narrative’ – how to write good, structured stories. Our main focus in Maths was learning about tens and units and developing mental strategies. An Aimsir (the weather) was our theme for Gaeilge. We also learned all about Chinese New Year, St. Brigid, explored magnetism and did beautiful art.
